In 2020, our community was struggling with the restrictions of Covid. Businesses were finding it difficult to stay open, many people were out of work, and social media became a crucial way to stay connected and make purchases online. Rick Soper, the President of the Silverdale Chamber at the time, collaborated with our founder, creating videos to promote local businesses and provide the community with updates on our progress through the different stages of the pandemic, highlighting local businesses and emphasizing the importance of shopping locally. This inspired our founder to support local businesses whenever possible, giving small business owners a voice. In 2022, she launched a social media marketing company, The Kitsap Life at Skywren Marketing, to work with small businesses, helping them establish a strong presence on social media through stories, reels, videos, and posts. She also promoted these businesses on her personal social media platforms and local networking events, further expanding their reach.
As we expand our team and client base, our mission remains unchanged: to support local businesses, make social media marketing affordable, and empower clients to utilize the tools they already possess – their smartphones. We believe that social media has leveled the marketing playing field for small businesses, and we are committed to helping them compete with big box stores by demonstrating to residents that shopping locally holds significant value. It is what defines the culture of the community they call home.
Amanda started her career in networking and social media in 2017, working for a non-profit organization. Her job involved attending events to create a presence and promote the non-profit, encouraging community support, and updating the social media page with upcoming events. Later, she transitioned into the real estate industry, working as a buyer's agent while also marketing online. During this time, she began volunteering her time to promote the local chamber through video and social media posts, with a focus on promoting small businesses and encouraging chamber membership. This experience inspired her to start her own company in 2022, which is dedicated to telling the stories of small businesses and promoting them in the community through social media and local networking.
